Benefits of the module:Scope

Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) poses a significant health risk in various industries.

This naturally occurring mineral, which makes up a significant portion of most rocks, becomes a concern when silica dust is generated by activities such as manufacturing, construction, mining, quarrying, and processing products containing silica. Inhalation of respirable silica particles, which are too small to be seen with the naked eye, can cause serious respiratory problems, including silicosis and lung cancer.

The AfPA RCS Awareness program is designed to provide workers with practical knowledge to identify and control potential risks of silica dust exposure. The training is optimized for mobile devices and can be downloaded for offline access. While the training is also available for desktops, the platform may not be as user-friendly.

AfPA recommends taking the RCS Awareness training program to protect the health and wellbeing of workers in industries with potential exposure to RCS. The training equips participants with practical skills and knowledge to mitigate exposure and prevent irreversible lung damage. Take action now to ensure your team’s safety and wellbeing.
