The 2024 Australian Flexible Pavement Association (AfPA) NSW Safety Forum recognises in the dynamic landscape of flexible pavement maintenance and construction work, ensuring the safety of both road workers and the communities they serve is paramount.

Both at a National and State level, the need has been identified for AfPA to facilitate a cross-industry exchange and collaboration between subject matter experts, practitioners and participants from across industry and all levels of Government, to identify the issues impacting road worker and road user safety.

This Forum focuses on two specific areas:

  • Separation of People and Traffic, and
  • Separation of People and Plant.

The Forum is designed to:

  • share insights on various crucial aspects of road worksite safety,
  • stocktake what is currently leading practice and identify what pre-existing industry investment has been made,
  • ask the question of what industry is currently doing in terms of what value current controls and practices offer as well as what is currently being achieved and the current trends/statistics, and
  • engage in moderated brainstorming sessions focusing on identifying and addressing these risks and ultimately to develop innovative mitigation strategies.

The Forum is aligned to, and delivers on the AfPA National Health and Safety Committee (NHSC) Safety Priorities Strategy and Actions 2023.

A detailed Program will be provided on our website shortly.
