Melissa ensures the delivery and communication of AfPA’s objectives effectively represent the interests of all members and promote the sustainable use and growth of bitumen-based products in pavement construction and maintenance throughout her regions.

EXPERIENCE

With an unwavering commitment to the construction sector, Melissa is a seasoned advocate, industry expert and a driving force behind growth and sustainability. Commencing her career in the civil sector over 20years ago, has seen her hold several leadership positions, promoting best practice in the interests of contractors, the supply chain, and other stakeholders.

Her relentless advocacy efforts have led to the implementation of polices which have enhanced safety, training, sustainability, quality, and growth of the civil construction industry.

Drawing on her experiences, Melissa can provide support to producers and contractors across all levels of their business. Her understanding of business and the importance of a strong pipeline of work in invaluable.

Melissa recognises the importance of collaboration and has strong relationships with industry leaders and government agencies which create a cohesive ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders.

Melissa was voted SA Woman of the Year in 2022 for a woman who is pursuing excellence in her chosen career and has overcome challenges to continue to pave their own path towards a career that they are thriving in, while supporting others to do the same.
