Within the construction industry, asphalt is 100% reusable and can be considered fully circular since it can be used to manufacture the same product again and again. The use of Reclaimed asphalt pavement can significantly maximize economic and environmental benefits such as conservation of natural resource, reduction in energy consumption, and reduction in Green House Gases.
To ensure greater content of RAP can be successfully used in asphalt, rejuvenators have been proved to provide significant benefits as they can effectively ‘rejuvenate’ the oxidised RAP binder.
AfPA has facilitated a project to explore the use of rejuvenators in asphalt mixes containing 40% RAP and to evaluate the use of AC15E (polymer modified binder) with high RAP content.
The AfPA webinar will present the AfPA RAP specification, the demonstration project undertaken in the City of Gold Coast using 40% RAP and rejuvenators and the sustainability benefits that can be achieved.
Proudly Supported by Austroads and City of Gold Coast.
