2017 AAPA Gala Dinner & State Industry Awards

The 2017 AAPA State and National Industry Awards are now open for nomination. This year there are 6 categories with the introduction of a new Road Worker of the year award detailed below.

Now in its third year the AAPA Industry Awards recognise excellence across a range of categories within the flexible pavements industry (as listed below) and culminate in the presentation of the National Award winners at the National Gala Dinner and Industry Awards held this year at the 17th AAPA International Flexible Pavements Conference 2017 on Tuesday 15th August in Melbourne.

Industry Leadership Award (Individual)

To an individual within an AAPA Member organisation who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the industry and the association.

• Commitment to the industry beyond their normal role
• Innovation or changes effected because of actions led
• Improvements in outcomes for the industry as a whole
• Renowned for beneficial sharing of knowledge and expertise
• Delivered benefits to the Association as a whole
• Interaction with other members and the Association

Innovation in Design, Process or Product Award (Organisation)

To the AAPA Member organisation demonstrating innovation in technological change, cost reduction or performance improvements in design, process, system or product in flexible pavements

• Enhanced value to asset owner and community delivered
• Improvements in design, processes and products utilized
• Technical complexity and solutions developed and implemented
• Interaction with the client and the on-site team

Outstanding Project Award (Organisation)

To the AAPA Member organisation demonstrating excellence and outstanding quality on the delivery of a flexible pavement project in Australia.

• Construction excellence and quality outcome achieved

• Technical complexity
• Interaction with the client and the on-site team

Safety Initiatives Award (Individual)

To an individual within an AAPA Member organisation delivering the most notable safety improvement initiative in the flexible pavement industry

• Demonstrated improvement in safety environment
• Interaction with the client and the safety implementation team

Emerging Leader Award (Individual)

To an individual under the age of 35 within an AAPA Member organisation who is recognised by peers for outstanding leadership and contribution to the industry and the association.

• Notable outcomes achieved for the industry as a whole
• Interaction with other members and participation in the Association

Road Worker of the Year Award (Individual)

To a road worker within an AAPA Member organisation who has delivered outstanding on-site performance, including high quality production outcomes, safety commitment and strong leadership abilities.

• Customer Service emphasis consistently demonstrated
• Providing role model, guidance and advice to peers and team within the works
• Positive attitude, understanding and leadership demonstrated in the team

Best Paper Award (Individual)

AAPA will be awarding a Best Paper Award, to the author of the best paper presented at the conference, as judged by the scientific committee.
